People bring pets home as a toy disregarding it as another being which feels the same emotions of sadness on separation as a child from its parent. These pets who cannot survive when left on the street succumb to injuries, starvation and die a miserable death as they cannot fend for themselves in the alien environment.

Animal shelter across India are also flooded with litters of stray pups, wild life and lost pets. Compassionate Living supports Friendicoes in its efforts to find homes for the animals in their shelter by encouraging people to invite these animals into their homes instead of buying breeds. Buying breeds is supporting the cruel practice called puppy mills.
